IEVA’s Time-C smartwatch monitors health and environmental factors

We live in a time where almost everything we own is considered intelligent. And even if it is not entirely true, it is sure that it is like that. Much of what we buy now is smart to one degree or another.

Take watches, for example. There used to be a huge divide between smartwatches and activity trackers. Each had its own distinct characteristics, and consumers tended to lean in one particular direction over the other. Today there is a lot of overlap and the “smart” ones vary from device to device.

IEVA introduced its new wearable, or as it calls them, “eco-friendly” watch on Sunday. Dubbed the Time-C, it monitors user health stats such as heart rate and activity. Moreover, it also monitors environmental factors such as sun exposure, humidity, temperature, and pollution.

Using the accompanying mobile app, the Time-C is able to react and predict, giving wearers tips, strategies and product suggestions. Examples here may include how to protect your skin on harsh summer days or how to keep your hair in line on humid days. It is also able to ensure that users stay hydrated throughout the year.

Time-C’s sensors can measure the following:

  • Ambient light
  • Ambient noise
  • Indoor and outdoor pollution levels with CO2 and volatile organic compound (VOC) sensors built into the watch and location-based pollution data (fine particles, ozone, carbon monoxide, etc.) taken from sources such as the EU Copernicus program
  • Physical activity including steps, sleep and automatic detection of several sports thanks to AI
  • Heartbeat

The Time-C is an elegant analog watch with a French-inspired design and Swiss-made mechanisms. It has a stainless steel case, a sapphire crystal dial and brass
dynamic hands. The data can be viewed on the watch and in detail on the IEVA app.

The Time-C has a battery life of up to five days when used outdoors and up to 24 hours when used indoors. It comes with a charging station that allows it to continuously monitor indoor air quality levels.

The Time-C will initially be available in Classic Steel and Rose Gold when it goes on sale later this quarter. Pricing should start at $490.
