TEL Plastics, a brand of RFL Group, has launched the “Environmental Development Fund” for environmental development.
Habibun Nahar, deputy minister of environment, forestry and climate change, inaugurated the fund at a hotel in the city of Gulshan on Tuesday, according to a press release.
A minimum of two taka will be deposited into the fund from the selling price of various TEL Plastics products.
Later, the fund will be dedicated to environmental development.
Addressing the program as the main guest, Deputy Minister Habibun Nahar said, “The current government attaches utmost importance to environmental protection. In this context, the government is working tirelessly to ensure a sustainable and suitable environment for the population of the country through various activities. , including the protection of the environment and biodiversity, the control of environmental pollution and the fight against the impact of climate change. Various strategic initiatives and activities of the government to combat the adverse effects of climate change have been widely praised in the international arena.
The Deputy Minister of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change thanked TEL Plastics for launching the Environmental Development Fund and hoped the fund would play an important role in environmental conservation.
RN Paul, Managing Director of RFL Group, said: “RFL has a responsibility to work with the environment as a leading producer of household products. The group has been involved in plastic product recycling activities since 2012. The group collects approximately 30,000 metric tonnes of ‘waste plastic’ each year. About 27,000 metric tons of raw material are produced here.
He further stated, “RFL, one of the leading business conglomerates in the country, has always carried out various programs as part of its social responsibility in various sectors, including the environment. We have introduced the “TEL Plastics Environmental Development Fund” to carry this activity in a more organized way. Hopefully with this fund, we can play a greater role in environmental development.
Kamrul Hasan, Executive Director of TEL Plastics, said, “At least two Tk will be deposited into the fund from the selling price of various TEL Plastics products. The funds will be used for tree planting, environmental pollution prevention and awareness raising. environment through various programs. In addition, the fund will be used to support voluntary organizations working in the field of the environment.
